June’s Senior Stroll was an excursion south of Bend to Lava Butte Visitor’s Center, where we drove to the top of Lava Butte, toured the newly refurbished Center and then drove to the Deschutes River where nearly all walked downstream to Benham Falls where they ate their lunch. Of course, we stopped at the DQ on the way back to church. A total of 13 went and enjoyed the ideal weather and the singular beauty of Central Oregon’s Lava Lands. The Deschutes was running high, making the falls all the more spectacular.
