Three cars and the church van, filled with Eastmont Seniors made the 35 mile trip just past Elk Lake in the Cascades to the trail head leading into Blow and Doris lakes. Nearly all walked the 1 ½ miles to Blow Lake and more than half completed the trek to Doris Lake, a six-mile round trip. Afterwards, we met at the Elk Lake Resort where lunch was eaten and much ice cream consumed! Great weather, inspiring scenery and lots of warm fellowship truly made the day memorable. Our final stroll of 2009, led by Trail Master, Vern Johnson, was deemed an enjoyable success!
